Spiritual Warfare & Servant Leadership The enemy's greatest weapon is his power to deceive you when you are operating in a soulish realm. First John 3:8 tells us that Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy. The words loose (in Matthew 16:19) and destroy are identical in the original Greek. We cannot bind or loose Satan himself. But we can destroy the assignments and the works he tries to bring against us and those we are praying for. If you going into a demonically challenged area to visit or minister, be sure that you are well prepared by being freshly filled up with the Word. Don’t just read the parts of the Word that speak of your power over Satan. What parts should you focus upon? A good leader must never develop a following of wounded people who have become dependent upon him or her. There is a temptation to consider natural authority and power necessary to be a strong leader. It does not take a lot of natural authority and power to take the hand of a wounded lamb and lead him or her into growing up in Christ. Never become so spiritually high minded that you forget the human needs of your people. Treat everyone with respect whether you like them or not.
